![]() I have refused to read digital books all these years, living the feel of the paper book in my hand, knowing how many pages I had read and how much more I had to read. □ĭidn’t think I could give up paper star star star star starīvkdoxy's Review of Libby By Overdrive Reviewed on 8/9/18 10:01 PM Thank you for this app and for supporting our public libraries. ![]() He is so proud of himself for being able to do this on his own and I find him trying to read everything he sees now. Afterwards, he’s able to go back and read the book on his own. He listens to the narrator read and he follows the highlighted words. The “Pete the Cat” series has given my son such confidence in his reading. More of a suggestion- I would love to see more books for Beginning Readers or children with dyslexia. It’s enough of an annoyance that I can only give the app 4 1/2 stars (that’s 3 1/2 more than my first review). It doesn’t happen every time and when it does I’m able to access my shelf, but not my library. The glitch that kept me from logging in isn’t fixed, but it’s better. I love to listen to audiobooks while cooking or doing housework. □This has become one of my FAVORITE apps. I even made an Overdrive account before letting it go, this didn't seem to help me either. After multiple attempts to sign in to my library in order to borrow books were shut down, I decided to delete. This might be a great app, I may never know. I was very disappointed, I had such high hopes. I’m two hours in and I can’t put up with the technical difficulties of the audiobooks anymore. Not the beginning of the chapter, the whole BOOK. THEN THE APP RESETS TO THE BEGINNING OF THE BOOK AGAIN. Because while I’m listening, in the middle of sentences, there are words that skip over or cut off as though they weren’t recorded. It keeps restarting from the beginning every time I open the app so I have to remember where I left off and drag the icon to the appropriate time.ĪND EVEN THAT DOESN'T FIX IT. Listening to audiobooks is an AWFUL experience on this app. It’s the best of both worlds: utilize libraries and go easy on my wallet instead of paying for audible through Amazon.īut oh my freaking god. Let me begin by saying I was so excited to find an audiobook app that’s run by libraries. star star_border star_border star_border star_borderĬrpane's Review of Libby By Overdrive Reviewed on 9/18/18 9:55 PM Please make these changes so I can completely move to Libby, instead of juggling 3 apps.Īudiobooks are AWFUL on this app. So basically, as Libby stands, I only use it to search for, place holds, and borrow books. I am a member of a number of book clubs and love to highlight passages for future reference. I use that often in Overdrive and Libby needs to add that feature.įor ebooks, I still read on the Kindle app because Libby does not have the means of highlighting and then exporting the highlighted passages. Regarding audiobooks, I still use Overdrive because Libby does not have skip ahead, and more importantly skip back when I don’t catch something. When I hear of a new title I want to read, I’m often not ready to borrow it or put a hold on it at that moment. I love that all my titles are on one shelf and I can see the due dates. But, I’d love a universal search that would look through ALL of my libraries at once. I have more than one library card and like that Libby remembers the titles I’ve searched for, so finding a book is more efficient than in Overdrive. I read ebooks and listen to audiobooks all the time. PamShetler's Review of Libby By Overdrive Reviewed on 9/30/18 7:45 PM Good app, but could be improved star star star star_border star_border
